Food Drive tomorrow to help stock empty shelves at Food Bank

Due to government cuts in funding, the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Association is unable to run their successful Basic Shelf Program this year. The program graduates more than 50 students per year, taking them from low-income situations and molding them into active contributors in Wood Buffalo. Photo supplied by the Food Bank.

Because of the increased usage at the Food Banks, its shelves are bare and Exit Reality Spirit will be hosting a food drive tomorrow to help get it stocked back up.

It’ll be at Extra Foods.

The Food Bank says drives are a great way to show support and help it out.

It says to organize one, it can help you out and to contact them.

It says compared to last year, August had a 23% increase in people using its services.

It also saw a 14% increase in usage from July to August.
