Alberta Transportation says Hospital St. overpass damage won't affect 63 construction deadline

Alberta Transportation says the repairs to the Hospital Street overpass won’t delay highway 63 construction in town.

It said on Friday that the concrete on the bridge was curing, and that all the repairs will be done before the end of September, or possibly sooner.

Previously, it said the repairs would be done by September 12th, but the contractor unintentionally damaged the overpass while trying to fix the damage from a wide load that hit it on New Years.

The next phase of 63 construction in the city will see traffic heading down Thickwood Boulevard that turns south on 63 being forced to use the Hospital Street exit to get downtown.
