Sturgeon County Council has made it official: Boonstock is no more.
Today, it passed a motion to permanently shut down the music festival near Gibbons, after nearby residents complained about garbage, crime, and traffic.
In the last six years, the weekend festival has gone up from hosting 1500 people per day to 14,000.
Though the festival’s producer says this year’s was the safest to date, the RCMP made 56 arrests and 45 drug seizures this year.
