Enbridge adding $1-billion pipeline to bring diluent to Fort McMurray

Enbridge says it’s planning on building a new $1-billion pipeline that would bring diluent from Edmonton up to Fort McMurray.

The company says the new pipeline is expected to carry 200,000 barrels per day of the thinning agent, but it could be increased to 300,000 bpd if it receives enough support from industry.

Enbridge is also planning on a $700-million expansion of it’s Southern lights pipeline, that carries diluent from Chicago to Edmonton.
