Province to match funding for Ukraine aid

The Redford government says it will give up to $100,000 for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

In a release it says there’s more than a quarter million Albertans of Ukrainian decent.

The province says it stands with the feds and disapproves all efforts to compromise democracy and freedom in the eastern European country.

The province says it’s working with Ottawa to stay up to date on the happenings and will be closely monitoring it.

The matching funding is coming through Alberta Culture’s International Development Program.
