Enbridge turns to former Indian Affairs Minister to help push for proposed Northern Gateway pipeline

Enbridge is turning to former Indian affairs Minister Jim Prentice to help get approval for the proposed Northern Gateway oilsands pipeline to the west coast.

The pipeline company wants the now, VP at CIBC to reach deals with 24 BC and Alberta First Nations who protest the proposed 1,200 kilometre line.

Prentice says the line would create lots of job opportunities for young First Nation Canadians.

Enbridge say it’s already reached deals with 26 aboriginal groups.

The pipeline would move more than half-a-million barrels a day from Alberta to the B-C port of Kitimat for exporting on tankers.
