The Regional Rec Corp is looking for council to approve the final design of the Northside Rec Centre tonight.
A movie theatre was part of previous designs, but the RRC says it’s not anymore because about 2 weeks ago, Landmark Cinemas reached a deal to build a theatre in Eagle Ridge and open it in 2016 or earlier.
The Northside’s final design still has an aquatic centre, bowling alley and 2 ice pads.
The corporation says almost 10-thousand people responded to online surveys that were updated throughout 30 engagement sessions.
Tonight’s meeting is the final one before council breaks for about a month for summer.
