Officials expect to finish Dover project sale soon

The Dover project will be sold, despite some top ranking executives who are being investigated over oilsands projects.

According to the Globe and Mail, Athabasca Oil says it’s still selling its stake in the project to PetroChina, and it expects to close the deal soon.

Last week, Athabasca’s shares plummeted when another Chinese Petroleum official was arrested for questioning.

The executive is the former chief of Brion Energy, which owes Athabasca more than a billion dollars for the Dover share.

The Chinese government’s investigation is focusing on several companies, and whether they paid too much for oilsands properties.
