RCMP traffic stops lead to two more drug busts

Wood Buffalo RCMP say this year’s plan to increase drug seizures is paying off.

Police say two people were caught with drugs in the last two days.

On Monday, police pulled over a car and smelled marijuana in it.

After searching it, they found 5 grams of MDMA, 1.5 grams of cocaine, and 1 gram of marijuana.

Police say charges are still pending.

And on Tuesday, another traffic stop lead to police finding 45 grams of cocaine, 2.3 grams of heroin, 2.6 grams or marijuana, and 5500 dollars cash.

21-year-old Alex Nugusse has been charged with two counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and trafficking.

He was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime, and failure to comply with conditions.

He’ll be in court on Tuesday.
