The province’s oil profits and sluggish political culture are to blame for a healthcare systems that’s falling behind.
That’s according to former Alberta Health Services CEO Stephen Duckett.
He spoke about the province’s problems in balancing health costs while at the University of Alberta yesterday.
He said oil wealth is boosting the tab on healthcare because the government is reluctant to say no to anything.
