An East Coast Liberal is making an election promise to convince Alberta’s oil industry to bring in the jobs.
New Brunswick’s Brian Gallant says the province isn’t capable of refining the volume of oil transported by the proposed Energy East pipeline.
He says most of the oilsands bitumen would be exported to other markets where the jobs would be created. Gallant is encouraging more direct investment from energy companies.
The line would carry bitumen from the oilsands as far as Saint John.
