Drivers charged after stops by RCMP traffic unit

Wood Buffalo RCMP were ticketing all over town this past weekend.

On Thursday, the Traffic Unit set up radar on Franklin near Dr. Clark Elementary School, where they seized a vehicle for 72 hours after they found the driver had been drinking, but not enough for a breath sample.

On Saturday, six tickets were given for excessive noise from vehicles. The next day, a driver was allegedly caught taking his off road vehicle down Abasand Drive.

He was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle of Unauthorized Class as well as Driving an Off Highway Vehicle on a Highway Without Authorization, which each carried a $230 fine.
