Scott, Prentice announce new small business website

A new website designed to make small business more attainable for entrepreneurs has been released by the province.

smallbusiness.alberta.ca is described as a one stop shop for government information on rules, program and support.

Premier Jim Prentice says it’s also about bringing owners together.

“The strategy will give small businesses easier access to information. It will help give them a role in the policy creation process, together with regulatory guidance and enhanced supports,” he said.

“It’s an easy-to-use source for small business owners looking for information on government funded supports and services.”

He also talked about the service isn’t just focused on the big cities.

“So in order to ensure that Alberta’s rural communities remain vibrant, there will be a renewed focus on the connection between developing the local economy and the social elements of strong communities that are needed for success,” he said.
