MOB face Storm in return from holidays

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons (22-14-4) hope their strong play at the end of 2014 will carry over into the new year as they host the Grande Prairie Storm (13-25-2) at 8:00 p.m tonight at the Casman.

The MOB had a 6-2-1-1 record in December picking up 14 of a possible 18 points and have shot up the North division standings to third with 48 points, just two behind former Head Coach Gord Thibodeau and his Lloydminster Bobcats.

Through four games versus the Storm this season the MOB are 3-1 and have outscored Grande Prairie by a 14-8 margin.

It will also be the first time that forward Mitch Vanderlaan is back in the lineup since leaving to represent Team Canada West at the World Junior ‘A’ Championships in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. Vanderlaan was the teams second leading scorer before leaving with 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 34 games.
