Syncrude Boreal Open returns to Fort McMurray in June

The PGA Tour Canada announced its 2015 tournament schedule today.

The Syncrude Boreal Open will return to Fort McMurray from Jun. 22-28, 2015 at the Fort McMurray Golf Club.

156 of the worlds best golfers will come to Fort McMurray and fight piece for a piece of the $175,000 purse.

In its fifth year, the tournament will once again bring world class golfers to the Wood Buffalo region.

Over 30 players who have played on PGA Tour Canada over the past six years have gone on to play on the PGA Tour including Nick Taylor, Mike Weir, Arron Oberholser, Chris DiMarco, John Malinger and Stephen Ames.

Canadian Tour graduates have earned over $250 million over the past 20 years while winning 52 PGA Tour events.

“Thanks to the hard work of our host organizations and the fantastic support of our sponsors, our 12 established tournaments are all returning this season in a great position to continue to grow, with a significant increase in prize money,” said PGA TOUR Canada President Jeff Monday. “We look forward to another season of outstanding golf from our players and an emphasis on positive community impact from our tournaments,” added Monday.

Bayview Place Island Savings Open – Victoria, BC – (Jun 1 – 7)

Syncrude Boreal Open – Fort McMurray, AB – (Jun 22 – 28)

SIGA Dakota Dunes Open – Saskatoon, SK – (Jun 29 – July 5)

The Players Cup – Winnipeg, MB (July 6 – 12)

Staal Foundation Open – Thunder Bay, ON (Jul 13 – 19)

ATB Financial Classic – Calgary, AB (Jul 27 – Aug 2)

National Capital Open – Ottawa, ON (Aug 17 – 23)

The Great Waterway Clasic – Kingston, ON (Aug 24 – 30)

The Wildfire Invitational – Peterborough, ON (Aug 31 – Sep 6)

Cape Breton Celtic Classic – Syndney, NS (Sep 7 – 13)

Tour Championship of Canada – London, ON (Sep 14 – 20)

All event purses have been increased from $150,000 in 2014, to $175,000 in 2015.
