The Fort McMurray International Airport has launched a new interactive observation area on the third floor of the new airport terminal building.

The pre-security area is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about the history of aviation in Northern Alberta and it provides a great view of the runway and airport campus.

Alberta artists Jane Ash Poitras and Amy Keller-Rempp, have new art installations in the section.

Three display cases holding historical aviation artifacts are on loan from the Fort McMurray Historical Society, Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame, and the Alberta Aviation Museum.

Telescopes and interpretive reader rails help tell the story of Northern aviation.
