Local MLAs have some competition in the upcoming provincial election.
The NDP nominated two candidates to run in the region.
Local teacher Ariana Mancini wants to secure the seat for Fort McMurray-Conklin, while Stephen Drover is running in Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo.
The announcement came shortly after the NDP released documents about the local hospital.
