A photo posted on Brian Jean’s twitter account led to some questions after Fort McMurray – Athabasca MP David Yurdiga, a federal Tory was pictured among Wildrose Party supporters.

Jean posted the photo on Twitter with Yurdiga among the crowd.

“Productive day building signs with #wrp candidates & supporters! Thanks everyone for your help. We’re ready. #ableg,” wrote Jean on Saturday.

Brian Jean wants to steal a seat in the legislature by running in the Fort McMurray-Conklin provincial riding against Minister Don Scott.

“The signs are not owned by any party, it was just a sign making party, that was it, we’re making signs for the next election coming up,” said Yurdiga. “I use the signs, Brian Jean will be using the signs and Travis Olson, the signs are not owned by any party.”

The group was building the large wooden frames in the background, which will be used to hold the campaign signs for the various candidates once an election is called.

Yurdiga says he’s not picking sides in the next provincial election, “Brian Jean is my friend, and so is Don Scott. I have a lot of friends on both sides, so that’s why I’m not endorsing any one of the candidates.”

Jean was Fort McMurray-Athabasca’s MP before resigning last January. He endorsed Yurdiga, who eventually won the federal byelection.
