A new 3-million dollar facility will be opening Wednesday in Jubilee Plaza. The McMurray Experience an interactive space that will showcase the community. Learning about Fort McMurray for visitors and newcomers got a whole lot easier.
Mayor Melissa Blake is encouraging people to visit “while they’re browsing the Urban Market, celebrating the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games, or anytime they’re downtown. It’s great for residents and visitors, and there’s something for all ages to enjoy.”
Visitors can sign a digital guest book, have their picture taken in their photo booth for free, learn about local artists, play a game in the kids’ zone, view interactive maps and immerse themselves in the social media wall.
The end goal is to spin Wood Buffalo in a positive light, as an active, thriving community.
It’s a soft-launch on Wednesday, with a more formal grand opening ceremony on Aug, 12.
