NEW YORK, N.Y. – The pediatrician who helped reveal the deadly levels of lead in the water of Flint, Michigan, has a book deal.

Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha is working on a “definitive first-hand account” of the crisis that has inspired outrage nationwide, publisher One World announced Friday.

Spokeswoman Theresa Zoro of One World, an imprint of Penguin Random House, said the book will “probably” come out next year. It’s currently untitled. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund (flintkids.org).

Earlier this week, Hanna-Attisha and fellow Flint activist LeeAnne Walters received the Freedom of Expression Courage Award from PEN America.

She also testified before Congress and was selected by Time as one of the country’s most 100 influential people.
