RRC hires Ken Bowie as new Executive Chef

Banquet and gala events at MacDonald Island Park will have a new flavour as the Regional Recreation Corporation has selected Ken Bowie as its new Executive Chef.

“We are delighted to welcome Ken to our team,” said Annette Antoniak, Chief Executive Officer of the RRC. “Not only is Ken well known for his outstanding culinary skills, but he is also known as a strong and dedicated member of this community. Most recently during the fight to save our community from the wildfire, Ken led a culinary team who remained in the region despite the challenging and dangerous circumstances to ensure first responders had access to nourishing, quality food.”

Bowie has significant experience in Fort McMurray as he has already held the post of Executive Sous Chef at the Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre, and Executive Chef at the Best Western Plus Sawridge Suites.

He’s also aided social profit organizations like the Wood Buffalo Food Bank and Centre of Hope.

Bowie’s first day on the job is Jul. 7.
