Municipal shuttle service for Wood Buffalo Rocks at MacDonald Island

The Municipality is making it easier for residents to get to the Wood Buffalo Rocks event on June 29th.

The shuttle service will cater to urban and rural residents wishing to view the Fire Aid for Fort McMurray benefit concert that will be broadcasted live down at Shell Place.

Starting at 3 p.m. residents in the urban service area will be able to catch a Transit shuttle from Timberlea, Thickwood, Gregoire and Downtown to MacDonald Island via Charter Buses and route numbers 101, 102, 11 and 99.

Park & Ride is also available from the Transit Building located at 160 Airport Road.

Rural shuttle service schedule:

Fort McKay:

  • 14:16 p.m. – Arrive at Fort McKay Band Office
  • 14:26 p.m. – Departure
  • 15:13 p.m. – Arrive at MacDonald Island

 

Conklin, Janvier, Anzac, Gregoire Lake Estates:

  • 12:16 p.m. – Arrive at Conklin Corner
  • 12:26 p.m. – Departure
  • 13:01 p.m. – Arrive Janvier Band Office
  • 13:11 p.m. – Departure
  • 14:11 p.m. – Arrive Anzac Community Hall
  • 14:21 p.m. – Departure
  • 14:36 p.m. – Arrive Gregoire Estates
  • 14:46 p.m. – Departure
  • 15:11 p.m. – Arrive at MacDonald Island

 

Return trips for the rural areas will depart MacDonald Island 30 minutes following the concert, which is anticipated to end at 11 p.m.

Fares:

Urban Shuttle Service and Park & Ride = $1.25

Rural Shuttle Service = $5.00
