Specialized Canada announces recipients of 50 bikes following wildfire damages

Specialized Canada has announced the winners of its 50-bike giveaway, a move they launched to help families with young children who lost everything, including bicycles, in the wildfire.

The bike company arranged to give bikes and helmets away to 50 children aged ten years old and younger. All selections were made randomly after people applied online.

The company wanted to support the evacuees and those who may have lost a bicycle in the fire.

“Our thoughts go out to the families that were affected by the Fort McMurray wildfires. We hope that these bikes will provide some fun for the little ones in need,” said Patrick Losey, online content and community specialist at Specialized Canada.

A party to celebrate the giveaway will be held next Thursday, July 14 at Habitual Sports. The bicycles will be assembled and given to the children.
