Last Updated Jul 13, 2016 at 9:29 am MDT

Friends and family of Emily Ryan are holding a celebration of life for the 15-year-old Wednesday.

Ryan was one of two people killed in a crash when the SUV she was riding in along with her 19-year-old cousin Aaron Hodgson collided with a tractor trailer on Highway 881 near Lac La Biche on Wednesday, May. 4.

“Emily was like a performer, she loved drama and speech arts and I think this is just one last audience for Emily so it’s going to be really, really, really nice as much as you don’t want to do it to have everybody together to say goodbye,” said her older sister Chelsi. “She loved writing, she journaled she liked books, she had a library in her bedroom I have a whole bunch of first edition Harry Potter books and I kept them in a rubber point to the point where she unpacked all the books and put them on her shelf because she was like ‘they deserve to be out!’”

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ER Park Rebuild at ScotiaBank, account #30569 02042 85 or by email to erparkrebuild@hotmail.com, donations can also be made to the Emily Ryan Foundation by contacting Sonya Ryan at sonyaryanymm@gmail.com

The ceremony is being held at 2 p.m., at the Family Christian Center located at 160 Dickins Drive, the service is open to the public.
