Heavy rain reduces Wildfire Hazard in Fort McMurray area

The same rain that brought flooding to parts of Fort McMurray also lowered the Wildfire Hazard in the region from moderate to low.

The Horse River Wildfire is still burning, although it is completely contained and deemed under control as of Jul. 4.

Crews continue to scan the area for hot spots, attacking them as they are identified.

If you spot a wildfire be sure to call 310-FIRE (3473).

Be sure to soak your camp fire, stir it, and soak it again when extinguishing it.
