Jason Kenney hits the road to 'unite the right'

He’ll be driving his Dodge pick-up truck across the province to spread the word about ‘uniting the right’.

Former Cabinet Minister Jason Kenney kicked off his “Unite Alberta Truck Tour” in Edmonton Monday.

He says he hopes to unite Alberta’s Progressive Conservatives and the Wildrose by 2018.

“Immediately proceed to negotiations with my friend and former colleague Wildrose Leader Brian Jean on the creation of a new broad, but principled, free enterprise party,” said Kenney.

“I’m going to be visiting all 87 provincial constituencies across Alberta, and every major community at least once in the months and weeks to come. [I’ll be] doing two things: talking about the need for free enterprise Albertans to unite so we can defeat the NDP, but also listening to Albertans about their priorities and concerns and get their input about how we can most effectively restore the Alberta advantage.”

His end goal is to overthrow Alberta’s NDP leadership, which he says has been “catastrophic” for the provincial economy.

In July, Kenney announced his interest in running for the Alberta PC leadership.

They will select a new leader in March 2017.
