A 27-year-old Fort McMurray man has been arrested in connection with a hit and run that happened Wednesday afternoon around 3:00 on Highway 63 NB just south of the Highway 69 junction.
Police said one of the drivers involved in the crash fled the scene on foot into the nearby woods.
Police service dogs gave chase but didn’t find the man. Meanwhile, the other driver was treated for minor injuries.
Just before 9:00 Wednesday night RCMP were called about a suspicious man on Rodeo Drive who matched the description of the missing driver.
Mason Watson is facing charges of dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
He has been released from custody.
