Nominations are now officially open for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s Citizen Recognition Program, an annual program that highlights the work of people in our community who go above and beyond to make it a better place to live.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to a special person or group who has worked hard to make our region a better place,” said Mayor Melissa Blake. “We’re now in our fifth year of running the Citizen Recognition Program, and I encourage residents to make a nomination and celebrate all those who make a positive difference in Wood Buffalo.”

Nominations can be made at rmwb.ca/champions. The deadline is Sept. 30, 2016.

You can also pick up a nomination package at the Community Services office (Future Forward Building, 9717 Franklin Ave.), Municipal Cashiers (Jubilee Centre and Timberlea Landing), or at each Rural Municipal Contact Office.

The Community Services Committee will review every nomination received.

The RMWB will recognize nominees at a celebration in January 2017. For more information, call 780-743-7966 or email champions@rmwb.ca.
