The boil water advisory has been lifted for all areas in our community serviced by the water treatment plant. Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed that water quality has been restored to a safe level.

This includes the hardest hit areas of Abasand, Beacon Hill and Waterways. It means that when people are allowed to return to the green homes in those communities they will not have to contend with a boil water advisory, somewhat facilitating the return to a new normal.

However, some of the water mains and service connections in these neighbourhoods have not been flushed, do not have active water service and are currently out of service because they are in areas where homes were damaged irreperably.

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo will be flushing and rehabilitating those water mains and service connections.
