Information session on Timberlea sewer project September 7

The RMWB is hosting a public information session on the contract for the second phase of the Confederation Way Sanitary Sewer Bypass project – inviting residents from Timberlea who live in the project area.

The municipality is doing upgrades to the Timberlea sewer system to alleviate the risks of flooding from surcharges on the existing line.

Phase one construction is expected to wrap up in October with phase two starting September 1 and wrapping up next June.

While work is ongoing, Timberlea residents will experience traffic delays and detours on Prospect Drive and Confederation Way. The RMWB said signage will direct traffic around work areas, and a full traffic plan will be shared at the meeting to minimize impact on residents.

The session will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Syncrude Athletic Park Clubhouse. Residents will have the chance to speak with representatives from the RMWB and the contractor. The contract will be awarded in the coming days.

This project will not cause any interruptions to water or sewer services in the area.

What: Engagement session
Where: Syncrude Athletic Park Clubhouse (Room A & B), 101 Cartier Rd., Fort McMurray
When: Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 from 5-7:30 p.m.
