RMWB re-launches BAGSTER program for Phase 1 in Abasand and Beacon Hill

The Municipality is re-launching the BAGSTER waste collection program free of charge for residents of phase 1 in Abasand and Beacon Hill.

You are eligible for the BAGSTER program if you qualify for municipal curbside waste collection in the green zones.

If you are a resident who belongs to a condo association of management group who has their waste handled by a contractor you are not eligible.

BAGSTER bags are three cubic yards and hold up to 3,300 lbs, the bags should be placed on the curb, same as where you would place municipal waste bins.

The bags will be picked up as long as nothing is spilling out of them.

  1. To receive a BAGSTER bag you have two options:Visit an information centre in Abasand or Beacon Hill and speak to staff from Waste Management. BAGSTER bags will be available on site.
  2. Call the PULSE Line at 780-743-7000. Municipal staff will contact you after you register for the program to coordinate BAGSTER delivery and pick-up details.

 

Each eligible household is allowed up to one BAGSTER bag and only smoke and fire damaged bulky items are allowed:

  • Area Rugs
  • Pillows
  • Outdoor Toys
  • Pet Beds
  • Etc

Items NOT allowed:

  • Appliances
  • Electronics
  • Mattresses
  • Metals

 

To arrange pick-up residents should call the PULSE Line at (780)-743-7000. The deadline for pick up is September 15th.

After that date, residents will be responsible for pick-up and disposal of the material.
