A free pancake breakfast will be held that day from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. residents are encouraged to come out and help celebrate this year’s campaign theme, “This is home.”

“This event is about coming together as a community,” said Diane Shannon, Executive Director, “THIS IS HOME expresses so much about what we feel about our community and our neighbours. We look forward to celebrating the resilient and generous nature of Wood Buffalo.”

At 10 a.m. residents will be invited our onto the baseball field for an attempt at a unique campaign portrait.

“We will be spelling H-O-M-E using people to create the 2016 Campaign Portrait. HOME is about people and so is the United Way. What a great way to capture and share the underlying purpose and power of the Community Campaign,” Said Colin Hartigan, 2016 Campaign Chair.

The Community Campaign is to replenish the United Way’s community fund and ensure that help is there when people need it.
