Feedback sought on entryway sign for Gregoire

The RMWB is asking for your feedback on a custom community entryway sign for the community of Gregoire that would be installed as part of the Community Placemaking Initiative.

All week residents can vote for their preferred marker option for Gregoire via an online survey at rmwb.ca/communitysigns. The survey closes September 12.

Back in April, residents were invited to vote on marker options for four other communities throughout the urban service area.

Three rural Hamlets are also slated to get new community signs and were engaged via one-on-one conversations with community leaders to decide their identifiable markers. Each sign’s identifiable marker is intended to represent the community’s unique historical background, based on recommendations from the Fort McMurray Heritage Society.

The goal of the Community Placemaking Initiative is to beautify our communities, enhance our streets and common spaces, and strengthen the sense of place by capturing and celebrating the geography, history, culture and lifestyle that makes Wood Buffalo unique.

After the results of the Gregoire survey have been calculated, designs for all eight signs will be posted online. Signage is expected to be installed in 2017.

Visit rmwb.ca/communitysigns to fill out the survey, see the survey results for the other communities, and find out more about the community signs project.
