Taste Canada announces short list for writing awards

GUELPH, Ont. – Taste Canada has created a new category recognizing health and special diet books for its culinary writing awards being handed out this fall.

The organization announced short lists on Tuesday of books and blogs in English and French up for its awards, being handed out Nov. 14 in Toronto.

Also new this year, Taste Canada said it would present a gold and silver prize in all categories except blogs, which will remain with one gold award.

The list was whittled down from 150 submissions (96 books and 54 food blogs).

Here are the finalists:
