The Municipality and Wood Buffalo Recovery Task Force will be hosting an information session on the removal of burnt trees in the community.

Residents will have a chance to gather information about the selective removal and disposal of burnt trees along perimeter trails, roadways, municipal property, park infrastructure and in burned neighborhoods.

The work will include burnt trees that have fallen, those with burnt roots that are leaning but haven’t fallen, and trees that are partially burnt near the base and have little to no structural support.

The project is expected to include the areas of Thickwood, Abasand, Beacon Hill, Waterways and the Lower Townsite.

Detailed maps showing the areas to be serviced will be available at rmwb.ca/recovery.

The information session will be at McMurray Experience, 9909 Franklin Avenue from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
