Wildfire risk elevated to high in Fort McMurray area

The wildfire danger has been upgraded to high in the Fort McMurray area.

The elevation comes thanks to slightly higher than normal temperatures and a lack of precipitation over the past several days.

Alberta Forestry and Agriculture is reminding residents that hunting, off highway vehicles and fall burning can cause wildfires.

You should check the exhaust of your off-highway vehicle regularly and when extinguishing your camp-fire remember to soak it, stir it and soak it again.
