TORONTO – Drake is postponing his current tour due to a recent ankle injury.

On his October’s Very Own website on Wednesday, the Toronto rapper wrote that he’s “done everything to power through” the injury “and leave it all out there on the stage every night.”

But he says doctor’s orders have forced him to postpone the “intense three shows in a row in cities” to allow him time to recuperate.

Cities affected include Toronto, where he was slated to perform this weekend, as well as Philadelphia.

Drake said he was asked to postpone his Newark, N.J., shows as well, but since he has yet to perform there, he compromised at one.

His has already played over 50 shows on his “Summer Sixteen” tour.

“I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down,” he wrote.

“I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise — I will make it up to you. Thank you for your understanding and I can’t wait to see you all again with new music and a stronger ankle.”
