The province is revealing more details about the proposed new Calgary cancer centre.

The facility, due to open in 2024, will include 160 inpatient beds, 12 new radiation vaults and three spaces set aside for future development.

There will also be outpatient cancer clinics, clinical trials, and research labs.

Associate Health Minister Brandy Payne says the government is ready to issue a request for proposals with the goal of starting construction next year.

Alberta Infrastructure is currently going through requests for qualifications that ended on September 22nd. The formal proposal will be posted later this month.
