ALERT and RCMP have made arrests after identifying two organized theft rings in response to a recent rash of ATM thefts across the province.
It’s been a large systemic problem that first responders have had to deal with, in the first six months of 2016 there were more than 130 instances of ATM theft.
More than 60 communities have been impacted with banks, credit unions, gas stations and convenience stores reporting severe damage and monetary loss.
They’re planning a news conference for Tuesday where they plan to release more details about the arrests.
