Alberta government suggests doing away with Daylight Saving Time

If you’re sick of moving your clocks forward and backwards — soon, you may not have to.

The province plans to hold public consultations to find out what people think about doing away with Daylight Saving Time.

It would mean you won’t have to change your clocks twice a year, or lose an hour of sleep each March.

Deputy Premier Sarah Hoffman doesn’t believe a referendum would be required.

Saskatchewan is currently the only province in Canada that doesn’t change to Daylight Saving Time.

PC MLA Richard Starke presented a petition in the Alberta Legislature this week, asking for a repeal of the act.
