The Fort Chipewyan Winter Road limit has increased to 15,000 kilograms as of noon on January 4th.
Tree clearing operations are taking place along the road from kilometre 0 to kilometre 31, and from kilometre 84 to kilometre 145 until mid-February 2017. Proceed with caution in these areas.
Residents should obey all postage signage when passing graders and water trucks on the road, the advised maximum is 30 km/h.
High clearance 4×4 vehicles are recommended. The delta area has rough sections, reduce speed and drive to conditions.
There are no regular services like road patrol, gas stations or cell phone coverage, you should always be prepared for emergencies.
