Registration for the tenth annual Shootout on the Snye is now open.
The four-on-four pond hockey tournament welcomes teams in all divisions starting at age 5, four to six players can register for $30 per player before January 27th, and for $40 per player until February 13th, when registration closes.
Ice hockey has been played on the region’s frozen waterways dating back to the 1930s, back then hockey teams from Fort McMurray and Waterways would compete for the Fairbairn Cup, which was donated by the owner of Imperial Oil, Jack Fairbairn.
The puck drops on Friday, February 24th and continues all weekend as a part of WinterPLAY.
