The Fort McMurray SPCA is temporarily closed.
Recent animals that have been taken into their care are being treated for a virus, the closure will allow the animals to recuperate and prevent exposure to visitors.
They are expecting the shelter to reopen late next week after final assessment by Dr. Levitz, the FMSPCA in-house vet.
Until the shelter reopens, no volunteers, animal viewing or dog walking will be available to the public.
The FMSPCA will announce when they are reopened.
