The Annual Pitching and Catching clinic sponsored by Servus Credit Union will be taking place on February 4 and 5 at the Macdonald Island Field House.

The camp is open from kids born in 1999 to 2007.

This year’s instructors of the camp include:

Shane Dawson-

Dawson played baseball as a kid growing up in Fort McMurray before climbing up the ranks to where he is now as a part of the Toronto Blue Jays Organization.

Dawson brings a very impressive resume to the clinic as he was drafted in the 2012 MLB Draft and led the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (AA) affiliate of the Blue Jays in wins this past season.

Dawson was also a member of the 2016 Canadian National Team at the Pan-Am Games where they won gold and was most recently chosen to take part in the upcoming World Baseball Classic on Team Canada.

“He’s going to come in, give some instruction on pitching and come back to his grassroots and help out with Minor Baseball in our community.” said Dutche Iannetti, General Manager of the Fort McMurray Giants.

Aaron Lavorato-

Lavorato also brings a plethora of baseball knowledge and skill to the clinic. Lavorato played his collegiate ball in Lethbridge.

On top of his success on the field, Lavorato is part of the Baseball Alberta Development camps and formerly was the High-Performance Coordinator for AABC.

Craig Langille

Langille will also be taking part as in instructor for this year’s camp and also boasts a very impressive resume.

After being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2004 MLB Draft, Langille played three years in their minor league organizations compiling a 6-3 record with a 5.23 ERA over 125.2 innings pitched.

Andrew Swagers and the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association’s Director of Baseball Operations will also be instructors in this camp.
