Municipality plans to move buffalo summer games clock indoors

Last Updated Feb 10, 2017 at 12:30 pm MDT

The 2015 Wood Buffalo Western Canada Summer Games clock has been saved.

Fort McMurray city council staff determined the portion of the clock that tells the time wasn’t functioning properly and that there were water issues with the base of the clock.

The base was not designed to sustain water and outdoor elements.

The RMWB Chief Administrator Officer Annette Antoniak is responsible for this save and says that the clock is an important piece of Fort McMurray’s history and the history of the games.

She has a couple of options in the works of where the clock can be put on display which she will be bringing to council next week as she is making every effort to save it.
