Nominations are now open for the 2017 Heart of Wood Buffalo Leadership Awards.
The Heart of Wood Buffalo Leadership Awards is a celebration of excellence in the social profit sector. The awards recognize the achievements of social-profit leaders, philanthropists and community organizations that are passionate and dedicated to improving the quality of life within the RMWB.
“This has been a challenging year for our community. We have seen the social profit sector and volunteers truly step up to support Wood Buffalo. The Heart of Wood Buffalo Leadership Awards really gives us a chance to reflect on some of the amazing people and organizations doing great things in our community. In a sector where individuals rarely look for accolades, these Awards are the perfect opportunity for the community at large to say ‘Thank you for making our region a better place’,” said Amy Matthews, Advisory Committee member.
Community members are encouraged to nominate anyone who may fit into the following categories:
- Board Leadership Award
- Executive Leadership Award
- Community Impact Award
- Social Prosperity Award
- Newcomer Engagement Award
- Volunteer Recognition Award
Nominations can be made online and the deadline is March 13th, 2017.
The 2017 Heart of Wood Buffalo Awards will be held on May 24th, 2017 at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts at Holy Trinity High School.
