Imperial has made an exciting donation of $250,000 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation Gratitude Campaign.

“This gift from Imperial will allow the Health Centre to continue providing excellent palliative care and ensure families in Wood Buffalo have a home-like and tranquil environment to spend time with loved ones during this most difficult time.” Said Cindy, Amerongen, Executive Director of the Health Foundation.

The money will go towards the redesign and renovation of two existing palliative care rooms to create full integrated suites as well as the addition of a third suite.

The two current palliative care beds at the Health Centre do not fully meet the need for a private and comfortable space for families facing end-of-life care for their loved ones.

The new suites will be designed to provide comfort across all ages and accommodate larger family gatherings which are customary in some cultures.

“The Health Centre is at the heart of Wood Buffalo, serving the needs of all people in all stages of life. Imperial supports the innovation and tenacity of the NLRHF and the ambitious goals of the Health Centre’s Gratitude Campaign,” said Shane Harris, Kearl Asset Manager. “This campaign is another example of the strength of Wood Buffalo, the industry and people who make this area so unique.”
