Local artists are being given three opportunities to show off their finest artwork within the region.
“Local artwork plays an important role in our region’s cultural landscape,” said Mayor Melissa Blake. “I encourage residents of all ages to take advantage of these programs and really showcase their skills and talents to our community.”
Artist in Residency
The Artist in Residency program is still accepting applications. Under mentor/artist Elisabeth Belliveau, eight artists will be selected to participate in the AIR program. The program not only offers free studio space at the Keyano Theatre and Arts Centre, and art supplies, but the eight selected will get the chance to present their work at a final exhibition.

Street Banner Program
As Canada celebrates their 150th birthday this year, the RMWB is inviting residents to submit their Canada 150! design for the annual street banner contest.
A panel of judges within our community will select five pieces of artwork that will be featured on municipal street banners on Franklin Avenue and Thickwood Boulevard.

Graffiti Abatement Mural
Proposals are being accepted for annual Graffiti Abatement Mural Program. The mural this year is planned to be at the Timberlea Community Park.
The program which began in 2012, aims to deter graffiti, while also showing off public art for the community.
