NHL’s great one was in town to celebrate some of ours.

Wayne Gretzky visited Fort McMurray to give thanks to some of our First Responders who have continued to work so hard to keep our community safe.

“We’re thrilled to be here to be part of this.

You don’t realize in life how fortunate you are till you lose things.

Whether it’s through the passing of somebody important to you or losing a house, or cars, or things that go with that.

But the reality is that the friendship and passion that you have with your family is what holds us all together.

I was telling people that we didn’t grow up with a lot of money but we grow up preaching love, so that’s what makes life work.

This community gathered around that,” said Gretzky.

As a spokesperson for the Toronto-Dominion Bank Gretzky was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman Frank McKenna.

They had lunch followed by a 45 minute question and answer period with first responders.
