For the fourth time the Municipality will be hosting their Show and Shine event on May 24, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

National Public Works Week runs May 21-27 and our community will be taking part by show casing the Public Works and Transit Services Department.

“I am especially happy to recognize the outstanding work of our Public Works and Transit Services Department, along with Environmental Services and Regional Emergency Services,” said Mayor Melissa Blake. “Public Works Week takes on a special meaning in 2017 as we recognize the efforts of those who worked behind the scenes to protect our communities and infrastructure, and support re-entry and recovery.”

The event allows the two departments to display maintenance equipment like snow plows, recycling trucks, buses, loaders, sweepers and fire trucks.

Children will also have the chance to sit in the front seat of these machines that look after our region.

On the day of the event you will be able to catch a special direct bus, route 66, at the Jubilee Centre terminal to the South Operations Centre on 140 Saprae Creek Trail.

The bus will leave the Jubilee Centre terminal at quarter to and quarter after the hour and will leave the South Operations Centre to downtown every half hour on the hour.
